Serie A tips of the week: Easter parade

Torino and Juventus club crests

Football Italia’s Susy Campanale takes you through the best Serie A tips of the week…

Because of the Easter holidays, all 10 Serie A fixtures this weekend will be on Saturday. With teams coming back from international duty, injuries and new COVID cases are piling up, all of which have to be taken into account when placing bets.

The biggest fixture is without doubt the Derby della Mole, and it is sorely tempting to tip Torino for the victory at 5/1, but even a draw at this stage would be upsetting for troubled Juventus. Nobody saw their home loss to Benevento coming and this is a potential banana skin for Andrea Pirlo.

Elsewhere, Inter tend to focus on defence first against the bigger clubs, but should let loose in Bologna, while Atalanta continue to entertain against Udinese.

Dramatic Turin Derby

Torino vs. Juventus – Saturday April 3, Stadio Grande Torino, Kick-off: 5.00pm

This could be the closest Derby della Mole in years, because there is so much at stake for two rivals in crisis. Toro have improved under Davide Nicola and developed an admirable never-say-die attitude, which could serve them very well against a Juve side who lost at home to Benevento last time. A Granata victory at odds like 5/1 are very tasty indeed, but I’ll play it safe for Both Teams to Score.

Entertaining Bologna-Inter

Bologna vs. Inter – Saturday April 3, Stadio Dall’Ara, Kick-off: 7.45pm

Bologna’s last three games have all gone Over 3.5 Goals, including back-to-back victories. Inter have won their last eight Serie A matches on the trot, but while their goalscoring exploits slowed a little recently, they should still have some fun against a side that has little interest in defending. Curiously, both goalkeepers had COVID-19 last month, but while Samir Handanovic recovered, Lukasz Skorupski is still out.

Best bet for Bologna vs. Inter: Over 3.5 Goals at 6/4 with BetVictor

Colombian courage

Atalanta vs. Udinese – Saturday April 3, Gewiss Stadium, Kick-off: 2.00pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

We’ve hit that period of the season where Atalanta go into overdrive. While usually they might stutter after a break for international duty, this was different, as their South Americans all stayed home. Udinese usually defend well, but there’s something about Gian Piero Gasperini’s approach that really troubles them. Luis Muriel and Duvan Zapata are both ex-Udinese players and I can see them running wild here.
