Serie A tips of the week: Europa strain takes its toll

Roma vs. Napoli, Serie A

Football Italia’s Susy Campanale takes you through the best Serie A tips of the week…

For more than 20 years, Susy Campanale has been at the forefront of Italian football coverage for Football Italia. With a unique level of experience and expertise covering Serie A, Susy casts an expert eye across the latest round of action and picks out the best Serie A tips of the week, exclusively with Eurotips.

We already saw the effect the Europa League commitments had on Roma and Milan last week, as it’s absolutely no coincidence both lost and failed to score. Expect similar concerns after the second leg games, particularly as the Giallorossi tend to fall apart against the top seven clubs anyway, let alone a well-rested Napoli whose injury crisis is beginning to ease. The Rossoneri are again decimated with Dusan Vlahovic’s Fiorentina to come and the tank is running dry.

Elsewhere, Inter’s match with Sassuolo was postponed due to a COVID outbreak in the Nerazzurri camp, so there are only nine fixtures to choose from. I am so tempted to tip Cagliari for a victory away to Spezia, but I’ve learned my lesson – Spezia are utterly unpredictable!

Roma’s problem

Roma vs. Napoli – Sunday March 21, Stadio Olimpico, Kick-off: 7.45pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

Napoli already did a number on Milan and now face another side exhausted from the Europa League. Roma returned on Friday morning from Kiev and injuries are taking their toll. Chucky Lozano should be back for the Partenopei, who hope the usual Giallorossi routine of failing against the bigger clubs will continue. They lost at Parma last week, this is a far bigger stretch of their resources.

Best bet for Roma vs. Napoli: Napoli to win at 13/8 with Bet Victor

Fiorentina and Milan club crests
Fiorentina vs. Milan, Serie A

Vlahovic vs. the Diavolo

Fiorentina vs. Milan – Sunday March 21, Stadio Franchi, Kick-off: 5.00pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

The wheels are falling off Milan’s season, as the strain of the Europa League and a thin squad has left them down to the bare bones. On the other hand, Fiorentina are finding some form, above all thanks to hitman Dusan Vlahovic, who bagged a hat-trick against Benevento. There is no reason at all why the young Serbian should be 9/5 to Score Anytime in this game, let alone odds of 9/2 as First Goalscorer.

Best bet for Fiorentina vs. Milan: Dusan Vlahovic to Score Anytime at 9/5 with 888 Sport

Count on Crotone

Crotone vs. Bologna – Saturday March 20, Stadio Ezio Scida, Kick-off: 2.00pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

Crotone are going down, but not without a fight, and new coach Serse Cosmi as well as January buys finally settling make them an entertaining team to watch at the moment. So are Bologna, who can pretty much always be guaranteed goals at either end. Defending will be optional in this game and the odds do not reflect that.

Best bet for Crotone vs. Bologna: Over 3.5 Goals at 2/1 on Bet Victor

Serie A Week 28 accumulator

Over 2.5 Goals in Crotone vs. Bologna

Both Teams to Score in Verona vs. Atalanta

Over 2.5 Goals in Sampdoria vs. Torino

Dusan Vlahovic Anytime Goalscorer in Fiorentina vs. Milan

Combined odds: 14.65/1 at William Hill
