It wasn’t so long ago that Juventus vs. Milan was a Scudetto decider, but although the fortunes of these two clubs have dipped in recent years and they both had to watch Inter celebrate the title this week, there’s still a huge amount to play for.

It could even be argued that in modern football qualifying for the Champions League is almost more important than actually winning silverware. It remains a five-way battle for the remaining three places and Lazio aren’t to be discounted.

Both Crotone and Parma are now mathematically relegated, but we’ve known for some time it was going to be only one berth left and that too is all to play for as we enter the final few weeks.

Juventus vs. Milan – Sunday May 9, Allianz Juventus Stadium, Kick-off: 7.45pm

What used to be a Scudetto showdown is now a battle to scrape a top four finish, but that won’t make it any less entertaining. Both sides are on frankly poor form and struggle to keep a clean sheet, so add to that the desperation they feel for points and prestige, we should have the recipe for a fun game.

Some fixtures just tend to provide goals and this is one of them, with 19 goals in their last six meetings, home and away. Fiorentina have not kept a clean sheet in 11 games, while Lazio’s last four matches provided a ridiculous 25 goals. They both need points to get their objectives for this season – safety and a top four spot respectively – so there’ll be no holding back.

No Marassi clean sheets

Genoa vs. Sassuolo – Sunday May 9, Stadio Ferraris, Kick-off: 11.30am

Genoa managed just one clean sheet in the last 11 rounds, while Sassuolo haven’t fared much better with two in the same period. There’s no reason why Both Teams to Score should have such good odds, especially when the Grifone are still not completely clear of the danger zone yet.
