Serie A tips of the week: Inter excitement and Juve nullify Napoli

Inter and Lazio club crests

Football Italia’s Susy Campanale takes you through the best Serie A bets of the week…

Because the first meeting was postponed in October due to COVID cases, initially given as a 3-0 automatic Napoli defeat and then ordered to be replayed on appeal at a date yet to be decided, this is the first Serie A game of the season between Napoli and Juventus. They did cross paths only last month in the Italian Supercup and Gennaro Gattuso’s side haven’t recovered yet from that loss. With Kostas Manolas, Kalidou Koulibaly and Dries Mertens among the absentees, and Andrea Pirlo channelling his inner Max Allegri, an away win to nil seems a good bet.

Elsewhere, Inter tend to struggle against a Lazio side who play 3-5-2 as well, which could turn into an intriguing shoot-out. Torino can continue their comeback tendencies, while Milan hope Spezia continue to act as giant-killers only on their travels.

Inzaghi challenges Conte

Inter vs. Lazio – Sunday February 24, Stadio Meazza, Kick-off: 7.45pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

It’s a huge couple of weeks for Antonio Conte, crashing out of the Coppa Italia semi-final in a fiery clash with Juventus, then there’s this battle for a top four spot before the Milan Derby and top of the table showdown. Lazio face possible distraction from the Champions League, but their sights are firmly on climbing back from their rough start in Serie A. Simone Inzaghi also uses a 3-5-2 formation and it should be very entertaining.

Best bet for Inter vs. Lazio: Over 3.5 Goals at 9/5 with Bet Victor

Napoli on the slide

Napoli vs. Juventus – Saturday February 13, Stadio Maradona, Kick-off: 5.00pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

I saw Napoli’s defeat at Genoa coming last week, they were flattened by Atalanta in the Coppa Italia semi-final and are missing their entire first choice centre-back partnership, with Dries Mertens also still out. Their confidence is rock bottom and they’ve not recovered from the Italian Supercup 2-0 loss to Juventus last month. The Bianconeri, meanwhile, have won every Serie A game except one in 2021 and rediscovered Max Allegri-level defensive records. Odds on Juve winning are good, but on winning to nil are better.

Best bet for Napoli vs. Juventus: Juventus to win and No to Both Teams to Score at 5/2 on 888 Sport

Davide vs. Davide

Torino vs. Genoa – Saturday February 13, Stadio Grande Torino, Kick-off: 2.00pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

Davide Nicola and Davide Ballardini have transformed their teams since taking over, but remain in the danger zone. Torino have drawn all their matches under Nicola, including a comeback from 3-0 down against Atalanta, while Ballardini’s Genoa are fresh from victory over Napoli. Toro are still without a home win all season and, even though Milan Badelj is suspended, I still don’t see them ending that run here. There is also a curious quirk: in each of the last three rounds, Toro have gone behind first and Genoa scored the opening goal.

Best bet for Torino vs. Genoa: Genoa to Score First Goal at 29/20 with William Hill
