Serie A tips of the week: Inter revival, vibrant Lazio vs. Juventus

Lazio and Juventus club crests ahead of their Serie A fixture

Last weekend’s results were a perfect example of why checking team news to the last minute is so crucial when betting. I had assumed Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t back yet for Juventus – he was, and scored two goals. I also didn’t realise Sassuolo were missing their entire first choice trident, which naturally put a dampener on the goals bet. That makes tipping something like Lazio-Juventus, with so much still up in the air depending on which COVID-19 test is used, a bit tricky. There are still trends to follow and, as always, the value in Serie A is on the lesser-known fixtures.

Olimpico excitement

Lazio vs. Juventus – Sunday November 8, Stadio Olimpico, Kick-off: 11.30am

We’re not sure who will be able to play for Lazio, as Ciro Immobile, Lucas Leiva, Thomas Strakosha and Luis Alberto all await COVID test results. We’ve seen nonetheless that Simone Inzaghi’s team have a specific identity regardless of personnel and they never say die. Will it be enough to get a result against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juve? Probably not, but they’ll give it a go and both are leaky enough defensively to make this entertaining.

Best bet for Lazio vs. Juventus: Over 3.5 Goals at 17/10 with Bet Victor

Inter can take Atalanta

Atalanta vs. Inter – Sunday November 8, Gewiss Stadium, Kick-off: 2.00pm

Conventional wisdom would have Overs in this game, between two sides who regularly score and concede plenty, plus are coming off goal-packed Champions League defeats. However, that is both reflected in the odds and also not necessarily true. Atalanta can often be neutralised by teams with a similar three-man defence structure, Inter have Stefan de Vrij back, the hosts are missing Robin Gosens and Marten de Roon, Alexis Sanchez returns even if Romelu Lukaku is out. Antonio Conte has an excellent record against Gian Piero Gasperini. I see an Inter victory and it could be fairly low-scoring.

Best bet for Atalanta vs. Inter: Inter to win at 7/5 with 888 Sport

Overs in Benevento

Benevento vs. Spezia – Saturday November 7, Stadio Vigorito, Kick-off: 5.00pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

It’s a relegation battle between two newly-promoted sides who passionately believe attack is the best form of defence. They do that against the biggest clubs, so expect them to be even more gung-ho in this six-pointer. Spezia are missing the same players they have been for weeks now, while Gianluca Caprari’s ban allows Iago Falque and Marco Sau to start for Benevento. I’ll be shocked if we don’t get goals in this.

Best bet for Benevento vs. Spezia: Over 3.5 Goals at 8/5 on Bet Victor
