Serie A tips of the week: Juve plummet and Inter entertain

Sassuolo Juventus Eurotips New

Football Italia’s Susy Campanale takes you through the best Serie A tips of the week…

For more than 20 years, Susy Campanale has been at the forefront of Italian football coverage for Football Italia. With a unique level of experience and expertise covering Serie A, Susy casts an expert eye across the latest round of action and picks out the best Serie A tips of the week, exclusively with Eurotips.

It’s the final midweek round of the season and that usually means lots and lots of goals. The pressure is off several sides, including the Scudetto winners, who should shake off the tactical shackles and have some fun against a leaky Roma in what is traditionally a high-scoring game anyway.

On the other hand, we have the complete collapse of Juventus facing a Sassuolo side in exceptional form and playing the kind of football Andrea Pirlo dearly wishes his men would copy. Down at the bottom, Benevento frankly look doomed to the drop and that means easing some of the tension in the clubs who until now have been worried sick.

Another Juve upset

Every time we think Juve have hit rock bottom, they find a new and even worse performance. In this midweek round they visit a Sassuolo side on sparkling form with five wins from their last six, unbeaten since a frankly unlucky loss to Inter on April 7. I wouldn’t discourage you from betting on a Sassuolo victory, but let’s keep a draw on side just in case, knowing the Neroverdi don’t score as many as they ought to.

Inter now having fun

Inter vs. Roma – Wednesday May 12, Stadio Meazza, Kick-off: 7.45pm

As expected, Inter have now thrown off the shackles after securing the Scudetto and are now finally enjoying their football again. It’s going to be a brief window, so enjoy it while it lasts, up against a Roma side decimated by injuries and whose confidence also received a much-needed boost with high-scoring wins over Manchester United and Crotone. The last six meetings between these clubs ended in draws, so that would be a secondary bet.

Best bet for Inter vs. Roma: Over 3.5 Goals at 7/5 with BetVictor

No Marassi clean sheets

Bologna vs. Genoa – Wednesday May 12, Stadio Dall’Ara, Kick-off: 7.45pm

Both are now practically safe from the threat of relegation and can begin to let loose a little, which means goals, especially between two teams who can’t defend at the best of times. Both Teams to Score is a lock, I’d say, but goals offer more value.

Best bet for Bologna vs. Genoa: Over 2.5 Goals at 3/4 on 888 Sport
