Serie A tips of the week: No clean sheets for Milan, Napoli or Juventus

Milan and Napoli club crests

Football Italia’s Susy Campanale takes you through the best Serie A tips of the week…

For more than 20 years, Susy Campanale has been at the forefront of Italian football coverage for Football Italia. Inter really have turned into title winners, as they parked the bus and ground out the 1-0 victory over Atalanta last week. It’ll take something absolutely spectacular for them to lose the Scudetto now, so the focus turns to the raging battle for a Champions League spot and a relegation tussle that could both go down to the wire.

That’s where Milan vs. Napoli will be a huge result and the Rossoneri seem to be dealing better with injuries than their old coach Gennaro Gattuso. Juventus crashing out of Europe could refocus them, or alternatively sap their already fragile confidence. A revitalised Cagliari under Leonardo Semplici certainly isn’t an easy fixture for them.

Rino’s return

Milan vs. Napoli – Sunday March 14, San Siro, Kick-off: 7.45pm

Every time we assume Milan must be running out of steam, they still churn out results in Serie A and Europe. They really impressed on Thursday in a 1-1 draw with Manchester United, but fatigue has to take its toll eventually with so many injuries. Gennaro Gattuso returns to face his beloved Rossoneri and the last three editions of this fixture have been draws. This is why I hesitate to tip Over 2.5 Goals and will go for Both Teams to Score instead.

Pirlo problems

Cagliari vs. Juventus – Sunday March 14, Sardegna Arena, Kick-off: 5.00pm

Juve’s season is already in tatters after crashing out of the Champions League to 10-man Porto in extra time and falling behind in the Scudetto race. This could be a very tricky trip for them, as while they’ll be eager to make up for that dismal midweek showing, Cagliari have been transformed under Leonardo Semplici. Leonardo Pavoletti and Charalampos Lykogiannis are suspended, so Giovanni Simeone and Joao Pedro will start upfront and they could do damage along with Radja Nainggolan.

Best bet for Cagliari vs. Juventus: Both Teams to Score at 8/11 with 888 Sport

Inter turn on the style

Torino vs. Inter – Sunday March 14, Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, Kick-off: 2.00pm

We predicted Toro’s first defeat under Davide Nicola, because of the COVID outbreak, but that is now easing and the star names return. Inter are also the top scoring side in Serie A mainly because they run riot against the smaller clubs and won’t bother parking the bus here, but it might not all go their way. The Granata are open and desperate, the Nerazzurri are brimming with confidence, expect a shoot-out.

Best bet for Torino vs. Inter: Over 3.5 Goals at 17/10 on Bet Victor
