Serie A tips of the week: Roma to spoil Juventus party

Juventus vs. Roma, Serie A

Football Italia’s Susy Campanale takes you through the best Serie A bets of the week…

For more than 20 years, Susy Campanale has been at the forefront of Italian football coverage for Football Italia. With a unique level of experience and expertise covering Serie A, Susy casts an expert eye across the latest round of action, exclusively with Eurotips.

We reach the end of a frankly unusual season, and the only issue still to be decided is relegation between Lecce and Genoa. There is an extremely tight race for second place, which means more for prestige than anything else, although there are some significant financial differences too. Atalanta and Inter go head-to-head for that, and a draw could allow Lazio to leap in front, so it’s wide open for that silver medal on Saturday night.

When you get to the final round, it’s all about finding value, knowing the motivation of the various teams and who will rest half the squad. That’s where keeping a close eye on the interviews becomes important, such as Maurizio Sarri confessing he’ll probably just field the Under-23 squad against Roma so everyone can rest for the Champions League with Lyon.

Not your usual Juventus

Juventus vs. Roma – Saturday August 1, Allianz Juventus Stadium, Kick-off: 7.45pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

Maurizio Sarri has won his first league title, and for all the criticism, he still did it with rounds to spare. So he and his squad can quite rightly put their feet up and prepare for the Champions League Round of 16 with Lyon. They were already practically on vacation in a 2-0 defeat at Cagliari and Roma have no motivation other than pride, having secured fifth place, but are on a great run of performances and results. Usually, Roma winning in Turin at 5/4 would be fair enough, but this is the final round in Serie A and rules don’t apply here.

Best bet for Juventus vs. Roma: Roma to win at 5/4 at William Hill

Immobile record

Napoli vs. Lazio – Saturday August 1, Stadio San Paolo, Kick-off: 7.45pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

Ciro Immobile has 35 goals under his belt and is just one away from matching the all-time Serie A record, set by Gonzalo Higuain for Napoli in this very stadium in 2016. Lazio are angling for second place, which in itself is fair motivation, while Napoli are already resting players ahead of the Champions League with Barcelona. Immobile is from the Naples area, so to get the record here would be extra special for him. I can’t imagine he won’t do it and that means finding the net at least twice.

Best bet for Napoli vs. Lazio: Ciro Immobile to score two or more at 12/5 with Bet Victor

Sassuolo shoot-out

Sassuolo vs. Udinese – Sunday August 2, Mapei Stadium, Kick-off: 7.45pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

The only people more frustrated at Sassuolo getting four goals disallowed against Napoli were those who bet on Overs. Still, they remembered what an offside trap is and hit five past Genoa, so expect a similar thrashing of Udinese here to see out what has been a pretty impressive season, with Ciccio Caputo eager to add to his 21 goals.

Best bet for Sassuolo vs. Udinese: Over 3.5 Goals at 59/50 with William Hill

Serie A Week 38 accumulator

Both teams to score in Atalanta vs. Inter at 4/9

Bologna to beat Torino at 23/20

Over 3.5 Goals in Milan vs. Cagliari at 21/20

Sassuolo to beat Udinese at 11/10

Select these four bets as an accumulator for combined odds of 12.36/1 at William Hill
