Serie A tips of the week: Rome Derby always delivers

Roma and Lazio crests

We’re into the final two rounds of the season and things are starting to fall into place. I’ll be frankly amazed if Benevento manage to avoid relegation now, so expect them to join Crotone and Parma in Serie B next term.

The top four is also beginning to take shape earlier than many thought, as Atalanta and Milan will qualify if they win this weekend. Juventus have a very tough encounter with Inter, while Napoli visit already-safe Fiorentina.

The Bianconeri kept themselves in it by beating Sassuolo, but were again frankly dreadful, so don’t let that fool you. An intriguing fixture is the Rome Derby, always a passionate affair even when there’s nothing at stake.

Roma vs. Lazio – Saturday May 15, Stadio Olimpico, Kick-off: 7.45pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

Lazio kept themselves in the running for a top four finish with a last-gasp victory over Parma, but have been looking very shaky in recent weeks. Roma are revitalised by the change of formation and the knowledge Jose Mourinho is coming next season. I would go for Over 2.5 Goals, but I fear a 1-1 draw, so Both Teams to Score seems more fitting for teams who attack much better than they defend.

Best bet for Roma vs. Lazio: Both Teams to Score at 1/2 with William Hill

Fiorentina and Napoli crests
Fiorentina vs. Napoli, Serie A

Pressure’s all on Napoli

Fiorentina vs. Napoli – Sunday May 16, Stadio Franchi, Kick-off: 11.30am

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

Fiorentina managed to play the only Serie A game this season without a single shot on target, 0-0 at Cagliari, because they knew a point would secure safety. Now that’s out of the way, they can let loose and have some fun against a Napoli side who could potentially seal a top four spot this weekend if they win and Juventus fail to beat Inter.

Best bet for Fiorentina vs. Napoli: Over 3.5 Goals at 17/10 with BetVictor

Rossoneri on a roll

Milan vs. Cagliari – Sunday May 16, Stadio Meazza, Kick-off: 7.45pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

The fixture list means both teams will play already knowing the other results from this penultimate round. Cagliari need a point to be safe, which they may well not even require once the game kicks off, while Milan know a victory will guarantee the top four finish. The Rossoneri scored 10 goals in their last two matches and have hit their groove after a tactical reshuffle. Even if the Sardinians try to park the bus, it might get barged out the way.

Best bet for Milan vs. Cagliari: Over 3.5 Goals at 6/4 on 888 Sport
