Serie A tips of the week: Rough weekend for Inter and Juventus

Inter and Parma club crests ahead of their Serie A fixture

Football Italia’s Susy Campanale takes you through the best Serie A bets of the week…

For more than 20 years, Susy Campanale has been at the forefront of Italian football coverage for Football Italia. With a unique level of experience and expertise covering Serie A, Susy casts an expert eye across the latest round of action, exclusively with Eurotips.

Serie A is officially the most goal-packed of the five major European leagues this season, averaging 3.73 per game. So much for boring Italian football. It’s not entirely, as some would have you think, down to bad defending, but mainly the fact newly-promoted sides like Benevento, Crotone and Spezia who have decided to come out fighting rather than defend and hope for the best. It’s admirable, it’s good for betting, and companies are also starting to catch on, so we have to seek the value maybe further afield from the usual Atalanta options. Team news is also important to check up on, so Romelu Lukaku’s injury is a worry for Inter against Parma, while it’s likely Torino-Lazio will be postponed due to the COVID outbreak.

How did I do last week?

Juventus vs. Verona: Under 2.5 goals at 11/10 ✔

Benevento vs. Napoli: Over 3.5 goals at Evens ×

Parma vs. Spezia: Spezia to win at 13/5 ×

Serie A Week 5 accumulator at 15.9/1 ✔

San Paolo fireworks

Napoli vs. Sassuolo – Sunday November 1, Stadio San Paolo, Kick-off: 5.00pm

So after saying there’s less value now in betting Overs on games involving Sassuolo, I am nonetheless plumping straight for the Neroverdi to deliver again. The collision of styles with Napoli, the fatigue of the Partenopei’s Thursday trip to Real Sociedad, the memory of recent clashes between these clubs, it all points to a thriller.

Best bet for Napoli vs. Sassuolo: Over 4.5 Goals at 23/10 on Bet Victor

Lukaku a big loss

Inter vs. Parma – Saturday October 31, Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Kick-off: 5.00pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

Antonio Conte’s men haven’t exactly been setting the world alight lately and showed how desperately they rely on Romelu Lukaku, so his thigh injury is the worst possible news coming into this weekend. Their focus will be almost entirely on the upcoming Champions League encounter with Real Madrid, having dropped points again midweek, and Lautaro Martinez’s confidence is rock bottom with Alexis Sanchez also injured. Parma therefore might not win, but they’ll certainly cause problems.

Best bet for Inter vs. Parma: Double Chance X2 at 23/10 with 888 Sport

Spezia can surprise Juve

Spezia vs. Juventus – Sunday November 1, Stadio Orogel, Kick-off: 2.00pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

I saw Juve struggling against Verona last week and was proved right, they were then battered by Barcelona midweek and Cristiano Ronaldo is still out with COVID. Andrea Pirlo’s experiments are so far proving fruitless, as they’ve probably put in one convincing performance all season and that was the very first. Spezia are in their debut Serie A season, but coach Vincenzo Italiano has clear attacking ideas and it’s a pity his defence lets him down. Spezia have a tendency to throw leads away, so I’m hedging my bets on what still represents excellent odds.

Best bet for Spezia vs. Juventus: Double Chance 1X at 23/10 with Bet Victor
