Serie A tips of the week: The final countdown

Atalanta and Milan club crests

Football Italia’s Susy Campanale takes you through the best Serie A tips of the week…

For more than 20 years, Susy Campanale has been at the forefront of Italian football coverage for Football Italia. With a unique level of experience and expertise covering Serie A, Susy casts an expert eye across the latest round of action and picks out the best Serie A tips of the week, exclusively with Eurotips.

It’s the final round of what has been a thoroughly unpredictable, goal-packed and often downright odd season.

Relegation is already decided, the Scudetto was done a long time ago and the only remaining issue to be resolved is the top four. That is because – and it’s good for Italian football at long last – we no longer have to assume that teams with nothing to play for will put on their flip-flops in the last few games.

Cagliari rained on Milan’s parade and there’s no reason why Bologna can’t do the same for Juventus, who gave their all to win the Coppa Italia on Wednesday. Because Atalanta lost that trophy, they’ll be in no mood to do the Rossoneri any favours either.

All or nothing

Atalanta vs. Milan – Sunday May 23, Gewiss Stadium, Kick-off: 7.45pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

Milan could’ve secured their top four finish with a win against Cagliari, but that would’ve been just too easy. It goes down to the wire and they need a victory against an Atalanta side that crushed them 3-0 at San Siro. La Dea will be furious after losing another Coppa Italia Final, this time to Juventus, so expect fireworks. Holding back will not do either of them much good.

Best bet for Atalanta vs. Milan: Over 3.5 Goals at Evens with BetVictor

Napoli and Verona club crests
Napoli vs. Verona, Serie A

It’s up to Napoli

Napoli vs. Verona – Sunday May 23, Stadio Maradona, Kick-off: 7.45pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

Gennaro Gattuso’s men have done enough to go into this final round with a top four destiny in their hands. Beat Verona and that Champions League spot is secure. Hellas have long stopped caring and their own coach called them ‘losers’, while Antonin Barak’s ban makes them even more unbalanced after a 2-2 with Bologna. This is no time for being defensive.

Best bet for Napoli vs. Verona: Over 2.5 Goals at 1/3 with 888 Sport

De Zerbi’s swansong

Sassuolo vs. Lazio – Sunday May 23, Mapei Stadium, Kick-off: 7.45pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

Lazio have had their now traditional end of season collapse and go into this final round with nothing to play for, Luis Alberto, Andreas Pereira and Luiz Felipe suspended, plus Francesco Acerbi and Joaquin Correa injured. Sassuolo, on the other hand, have their last game under Roberto De Zerbi and can leapfrog Roma into seventh place. If that’s not a lock…

Best bet for Sassuolo vs. Lazio: Sassuolo to win at 19/20 on 888 Sport

Serie A Week 38 accumulator

Over 2.5 Goals in Inter vs. Udinese

Torino to win vs. Benevento

Over 3.5 Goals in Spezia vs. Roma

Sassuolo to win vs. Lazio
