Serie A tips of the week: Too many Milan problems, Genoa rattle Inter

Milan and Atalanta club crests

Football Italia’s Susy Campanale takes you through the best Serie A bets of the week…

For more than 20 years, Susy Campanale has been at the forefront of Italian football coverage for Football Italia. With a unique level of experience and expertise covering Serie A, Susy casts an expert eye across the latest round of action, exclusively with Eurotips.

It’s important when placing bets to check out just precisely who is playing, because the Milan that would’ve played Atalanta last week is not the same one we’ll see on Friday. Injuries and bans are piling up ahead of Week 36, handing La Dea a huge opportunity to consolidate second place. That could be made even easier by the fact Inter are visiting a Genoa side desperate to avoid relegation, while Napoli and Sassuolo are free of pressure for a good old-fashioned goalfest. Motivation matters more and more at this late stage of the season, so take all these elements into consideration when preparing your betting portfolio.

Milan decimated

Milan vs. Atalanta – Friday July 24, Stadio Meazza, Kick-off: 8.45pm

These are the two form teams since the Serie A restart, so what happens when two unbeaten outfits go head-to-head? Except a quick glance at the team-sheets will tell you these aren’t the same sides at all. Milan have Theo Hernandez and Ismael Bennacer suspended, Alessio Romagnoli, Andrea Conti, Samu Castillejo and Mateo Musacchio injured. That means teenager Matteo Gabbia and squad players Diego Laxalt and Lucas Biglia have to start. Atalanta won 5-0 back in December, it won’t get quite that ugly, but it won’t be pretty either.

Best bet for Milan vs. Atalanta: Atalanta to win at 23/20 on Bet Victor

Genoa rage

Genoa vs. Inter – Saturday July 25, Stadio Ferraris, Kick-off: 6.30pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

When you get to this late stage, motivation means more than the star names in your squad. Genoa are scrapping for their Serie A lives, while Inter seem to care very little whether they finish second or third, repeatedly crumbling the moment they got close to aiming higher. The Grifone are fresh from winning the local derby with Sampdoria and veteran Goran Pandev will love facing his old club. Tipping Genoa for the win might be a bit too much, but we can lay Inter with some confidence.

San Paolo shootout

Napoli vs. Sassuolo – Saturday July 25, Stadio San Paolo, Kick-off: 8.45pm

Gennaro Gattuso was furious with his Napoli side after their 2-1 defeat to Parma. Even if it was down to some very soft penalties, he accused them of ‘messing about too much’ before getting to the matter of scoring goals. Arkadiusz Milik returns from suspension, so they’ll have a focal point in attack. Sassuolo have lost some momentum, with Jeremie Boga probably out injured, but can still put on a show.

Best bet for Napoli vs. Sassuolo: Over 3.5 Goals at 11/10 with William Hill

Serie A Week 36 accumulator

Under 1.5 Goals in Cagliari vs. Udinese at 5/2
