Serie A tips of the week: Verona neutralise Juve, exciting Campania Derby

Juventus and Verona crests ahead of their Serie A fixture

Football Italia’s Susy Campanale takes you through the best Serie A bets of the week…

For more than 20 years, Susy Campanale has been at the forefront of Italian football coverage for Football Italia. With a unique level of experience and expertise covering Serie A, Susy casts an expert eye across the latest round of action, exclusively with Eurotips.

There were some real surprise results last week, as Napoli, Atalanta and Andrea Pirlo’s Juventus all showed themselves to be more unpredictable than we gave them credit for. The Champions League and Europa League began this week, which means squads are stretched to breaking point, fatigue becomes more of an issue and that’s not even mentioning the growing number of COVID-19 cases spreading throughout Serie A.

Keeping a close eye on team news and the fixture list will help us see where the value is on the betting market, along with some old favourites that keep cropping up, such as Sassuolo and Atalanta being practically a guarantee of Overs.

Pirlo’s Juve not ready

Juventus vs. Hellas Verona – Sunday October 25, Allianz Juventus Stadium, Kick-off: 7.45pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

It was always going to take a while for Andrea Pirlo to mould this Juventus into his vision, especially now we know just how fluid and complex his tactics are. Add in Cristiano Ronaldo and Weston McKennie out with COVID, a trip to Kiev and the focus already on an upcoming Champions League showdown with Barcelona, it’s a recipe for another slip-up against a tough Verona. The Bianconeri were held by Crotone and I can see Hellas neutralising them in Turin with a high press. Even if Juve manage to scrape a win, it won’t be a goalfest.

Best bet for Juventus vs. Verona: Under 2.5 Goals at 11/10 on 888 Sport

Partenopei powering up

Benevento vs. Napoli – Sunday October 25, Stadio Vigorito, Kick-off 2.00pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

Predicting Napoli can be a tricky affair, because they lurch from a 4-1 victory over Atalanta to a 1-0 home loss in the Europa League against AZ Alkmaar, despite barely changing their line-up. That’s because this squad is incredibly moody, and taking the temperature of their sensations going into a game can really pay off. Their every performance is a reaction to what came before and this is just days after a sluggish, toothless display in Europe. This is a local derby, Benevento only know how to attack and this game is the highlight of their entire season. I wouldn’t be against tipping Benevento to win, but goals seem more of a guarantee.

Best bet for Benevento vs. Napoli: Over 3.5 Goals at Evens on Bet Victor

Spezia surprise

Parma vs. Spezia – Sunday October 25, Stadio Tardini, Kick-off: 14.00pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

I feared trying to transform Parma practically overnight from a counter-attacking, largely negative side to Fabio Liverani’s play out from the back approach would be damaging, especially in the early weeks of the campaign. Add the COVID-19 outbreak at the club and a failed transfer strategy, it’s going to be a very difficult season for the Ducali. Spezia have shown they can cause some surprises and they have no reason to fear the Stadio Tardini trip.

Best bet for Parma vs. Spezia: Spezia to win at 13/5 on Bet Victor
