Sevilla vs. Atletico Madrid Predictions and Preview

Atletico Madrid are starting to generate some momentum as they attempt to push league leaders Barcelona all the way for this season’s La Liga title.

Diego Simeone’s side are unbeaten throughout their last 14 league matches but they have won just two of their eight matches away from home in the competition.

Sevilla sit third in the standings, one place and two points behind Atleti, having been held 1-1 in each of their last three away games – at Alaves, Valencia and Leganes.

However, Pablo Machin’s side have won ten home games in a row in all competitions.

Unsurprisingly, neither side are clear favourites for this encounter as Sevilla are at odds of 9/5 with an Atleti victory priced at 17/10 and the draw available at 21/10.

These fixtures tend to produce lots of goals with 16 going in across the four meetings last season, so Over 3.5 goals at 3/1 appears to be a solid bet with Over 4.5 at 7/1.

A ‘double chance’ on Sevilla to come away with either a draw or a win is available at 9/20 while an Atleti win/draw outcome is at 2/5.

If you fancy the away side to be leading at both half-time and at the final whistle, such odds are available at 18/5.

One to watch for Sevilla: Andre Silva has been on fire for Pablo Machin’s side this season following his season-long loan arrival from Milan. The Portuguese international has netted eight league goals already this season and is priced at 9/4 to net here.

One to watch for Atletico Madrid: Nikola Kalinic did not find the net in any of his first seven La Liga games but scored in consecutive outings following Diego Costa’s injury. He is available at a tempting 49/20 to score in his fourth game in six.

Long shot: Atletico Madrid have already secured an impressive 12 clean sheets this campaign while Sevilla have conceded just four goals in their last eight games. Odds of this game to finish scoreless are at 7/1.
