Sevilla v Barcelona Predictions and Preview
There isn’t much separating Sevilla and Barcelona in the La Liga table ahead of this game. This is a huge fixture between the Spanish top flight’s third and fourth-placed teams, as both clubs aim to chase down a stuttering Atletico Madrid.
The league leaders have been dropping points in recent weeks, at the same time as Sevilla have gone on a superb run. Los Nervionenses may have lost 3-2 to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League last week, but they’re on a 10-match winning steak in domestic competitions.
Sevilla have been superb defensively during that run, keeping nine clean sheets. One of those came in their somewhat comfortable victory over Barcelona earlier this month, where Julen Lopetegui’s side scored two of their 20 goals across that 10-game sequence.

Sevilla to win to nil
Sevilla to win 2-0
En-Nesyri to score first
The home team come into this Sevilla v Barcelona preview as the slight betting underdogs though, priced at 23/10. The visitors are 21/17, as they go in search of their first win in four games against Los Palanganas.
Barca only won one of their four games prior to Wednesday’s clash with Elche, including that cup semi-final. That match was only Barca’s second defeat in 17 at the time, but Ronald Koeman’s side were outclassed in last week’s 4-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and dropped two more points at home to Cadiz on Sunday.
Barcelona are a mess both on and off the pitch right now when it comes to competing with the best around. It would be no surprise if Sevilla win this game, while the hosts may even be disappointed to come away with only a point.
The last two La Liga meetings between these clubs have ended all square, including a 1-1 draw at the Nou Camp in early October. If you think another draw is on the cards this weekend, you can back that at 27/10 in the betting.
One to watch for Sevilla: Luuk de Jong opened the scoring when these teams met in the league earlier this season. The Dutch striker has also scored in each of Sevilla’s last two games, and he is 15/2 to make it three in a row with the opening goal on Saturday.
One to watch for Barcelona: Lionel Messi is the 4/1 favourite to break the deadlock in these Sevilla v Barcelona predictions. If this is to be the Argentine maestro’s final season in Catalonia, he will want to ensure he goes out with a bang, and he is currently La Liga’s joint top scorer with former team mate Luis Suarez.
Long shot: After scoring 20 goals and keeping nine clean sheets in winning all of their last 10 domestic games, Sevilla are available at 19/1 to repeat their 2-0 victory over Barcelona from a couple of weeks ago at this same ground. Youssef En-Nesyri is on 17 goals for the season, and 137/1 to score the first goal in a 2-0 home win.
