Torino vs. Milan Predictions and Preview

Hosts Torino have been one of the surprise packages of the campaign. Walter Mazzarri has put together a good squad with the rejuvenated Andrea Belotti leading the line. The forward struggled with injuries and poor form over the last 18 months but now looks back to his best. Belotti is 15/4 to net first and 7/1 to get two or more goals.

Pleasingly for Mazzarri, is his defence. Toro have one of the best rearguards in the division and only champions Juventus and Inter have conceded less. The home side are 7/4 to emerge triumphant and maintain their fine push for a European place.

Milan will look to put their Coppa Italia disappointment behind them when they travel to Turin. The Rossoneri failed to get the better of Lazio in the second-leg of their semi-final tie and must be careful their season doesn’t end in further failure. Gennaro Gattuso looked like he had weather the storm surrounding his future but the speculation has intensified once again and anything less than a top four berth is likely to result in the Diavolo legend losing his job in the summer.

Gattuso will hope talisman Krzysztof Piatek has his shooting boots on as the striker battles it out with Fabio Quagliarella and Cristiano Ronaldo to claim the golden boot. Piatek has 21 efforts to his name and is 4/1 to open proceedings and given Milan the perfect start. The Rossoneri are 8/5 to come away with the spoils and 2/1 to claim a point.

Latest Form

One to watch for Torino: Cristian Ansaldi got the winner against Genoa and is a real threat from his right wing-back role. The former Inter man is 11/1 to score anytime during the encounter.

One to watch for Milan: Lucas Paqueta will return to the fold after recovering from injury. The Brazilian has been missed and is 5/1 in the same anytime scorer market.

Long shot: Torino will fancy their chances of getting something from the clash, and quite rightly. Mazzarri’s troops have gradually improved as the season has worn on and have the solidity and ability to inflict further misery on Gattuso and Milan. A 2-0 victory is 12/1.
