Udinese v Inter Predictions and Preview
It was a mixed January for the hosts, who won their opening games against Lecce and Sassuolo before losing to Milan and Parma. Nevertheless, the Zebrette have a nice cushion, and are nine clear of the bottom three.
Luca Gotti’s squad have only scored 19 goals but have still won seven of their 21 league matches. Central to the Zebrette’s hopes of taking something from Sunday’s encounter is the form of De Paul.
The Argentine was strongly linked to both Milan clubs after the 2018-19 season and there is a belief he will move on at the end of the current campaign. In the meantime, the midfielder is 4/1 to net anytime. Udine are 9/2 to claim the spoils and the stalemate is 11/4.
Elsewhere, Inter have drawn their last three league fixtures 1-1 and can ill-afford any further slip-ups in the race for the title. Antonio Conte has welcomed Ashley Young, Victor Moses and Christian Eriksen in to the ranks and his latest recruit will be pushing for a starting role following his transfer from Tottenham Hotspur.
Conte tinkered with his setup in the Coppa Italia triumph against Fiorentina in midweek, moving from a 3-5-2 to a 3-4-1-2 and Eriksen is likely to be earmarked for the role off the strikers.
The Dane is 13/2 to open proceedings and will be at the front of the queue at set pieces. Top scorer Romelu Lukaku is 3/1 in the same first scorer market, while the Nerazzurri are 7/10 to record victory number 15 of the term.
One to watch for Udinese: Stefano Okaka will partner Kevin Lasagna upfront and is 10/3 to score anytime. The Italian is a dependable outlet and could look to target veteran Diego Godin who has struggled since moving from Atletico Madrid.
One to watch for Inter: Lautaro Martinez has netted 16 goals in all competitions and is 13/2 to hit a brace. The South American has been in stellar form all year and is well on his way to becoming one of the elite forwards on the continent.
Long shot: Conte was visibly irate after the deadlock with Cagliari and his squad are likely to have faced the tactician’s wrath at full-time. Inter have the Derby della Madonnina on the horizon and a dominant display will be the perfect tonic. A 3-0 away day triumph is 16/1.
