Andrea Pirlo’s reign as Juventus boss will reportedly come to an abrupt end  if the outgoing champions lose to Serie A counterparts Udinese. Former Zebrette manager Igor Tudor has been lined up as interim coach and there is a real possibility the Bianconeri could miss out on the top four with Atalanta, Napoli, Milan and Lazio all in the mix.

Udinese v Juventus Predictions and Preview

Zebrette tactician Luca Gotti will sympathise with his opposite number after experiencing similar pressures this term. The Adria native reluctantly stepped in for Tudor after the Croatian’s dismissal in November 2019 and was very vocal about taking the role on a permanent basis. Fast forward 18 months and Gotti is still at the helm and on course to beat last year’s points haul and league finish, despite losing five of their first six.

Rodrigo de Paul has been the standout performer for Udinese and will leave the club this summer with everyone’s best wishes. The Argentine would not look out of place in the Juventus midfield and is a target for the Bianconeri, Inter and a host of other top sides domestically and on the continent.

The Zebrette skipper has eight goals and seven assists to his name from 31 appearances and is 11/1 to open proceedings. Gotti has plenty of choice in attack with Stefano Okaka, Fernando Llorente and Fernando Forestieri vying for the centre-forward role and the Italian is expected to get the nod.

Okaka will relish the physical battle with compatriots Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini and is a handful. The well-travelled Umbrian is 10/3 to net anytime and Roberto Pereyra can be found at 5/1. Udinese are 11/2 to clinch victory and a draw is 16/5.

Alvaro Morata will be recalled at the expense of Paulo Dybala. The loanee made an instant impact in Florence and is the more compatible partner for Cristiano Ronaldo. The 15-goal Spaniard has also laid off 10 assists and is 7/2 to break the deadlock.

Ronaldo is 9/4 favourite in the same market and is four ahead of Romelu Lukaku in the race for the Capocannoniere crown. Dybala, whose own future remains uncertain, is 9/2 to register last and Juventus are 4/9 to come away with the spoils.

One to watch for Udinese: Jayden Braaf is on Manchester City’s books and the Premier League leaders have high hopes for the youngster. The winger arrived on a temporary deal in the winter and is 18/1 to score last.

One to watch for Juventus: Federico Chiesa has so often been the Bianconeri’s go to man this term and is primed for a big role for his country at Euro 2020. The ex-Fiorentina idol is 11/2 to notch first.

Long shot: There will be wholesale changes on and off the pitch for Juventus and, if the rumours are to be believed, Max Allegri will back himself to get the deposed champions back to the top. In the meantime, Udinese will sense an opportunity to surprise the visitors and a second 2-1 triumph in nine months is 20/1.
