Venezia v Inter Predictions and Preview
Inter Milan may be having a busy time of it as they negotiate their title defence and Champions League campaign, but Simone Inzaghi’s side should have enough strength in depth to make it six unbeaten in Serie A when they head to Venezia this weekend.
The Nerazzurri haven’t lost on their last five league outings, since losing their first game of the season away to Lazio last month. Inter have shared draws with Juventus and AC Milan, while beating Empoli, Udinese and Napoli.
Last weekend’s 3-2 victory over Napoli means Inter head into this weekend’s clash four points behind both the Parthenopeans and local rivals Milan, who also suffered their first loss of the season last time out. The visitors are the 5/12 favourites for the win in this Venezia v Inter preview.
The home team, meanwhile, are priced at 38/5, as they go in search of their first victory over the San Siro outfit since 1999. I Leoni Alati have made a decent start on their return to the top flight this season, with victories in each of their two games either side of the international break pushing them six points clear of the relegation zone.
Those two wins were impressive to boot, as the Arancioneroverdi came from behind to beat Jose Mourinho’s Roma 3-2 before a 1-0 triumph away to Bologna. Paolo Zanetti’s side will hope to be in this contest, but their three-match unbeaten run looks set to come to an end against one of the league’s top teams.
As such, the hosts would surely be pleased to take a point from this game, with the draw priced at 4/1. They’ll have to do without injured duo Luca Fiordilino and Michael Svoboda though, who are both struggling with hernias. Inter, meanwhile, will be missing Stefan de Vrij and Alexis Sanchez, who both have hamstring problems.
One to watch for Venezia: Nigerian forward David Okereke has had a superb November so far, netting the winners against both Roma and Venezia. He also scored the opener against Sassuolo towards the end of last month and is 12/1 to do the same in these Venezia v Inter predictions.
One to watch for Inter: Hakan Calhanoglu has scored from the penalty spot in each of his last two games for the Nerazzurri, bagging the opener against former club Milan and netting an equaliser against Napoli. He is 17/2 to break the deadlock this weekend.
Long shot: These teams drew 1-1 the last time they met at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo. The same result on Saturday is 19/2 in these Venezia v Inter tips, rising to 47/1 if you add Lautaro Martinez as the first goalscorer.
