Villarreal v Real Madrid Predictions and Preview
Emery has started life superbly in the Villarreal dugout. The Spaniard was out of the game for eight months following his dismissal as Arsenal coach but has turned things around in spectacular fashion.
The Yellow Submarine are also well positioned to advance from the group-stage of the Europa League and there is a lot of quality in the ranks.
President Fernando Roig has quietly put together a talented squad blessed with internationals in all departments and Dani Parejo has slotted in seamlessly alongside countrymen Vicente Iborra and Manu Trigueros.
The midfielder stunningly arrived on a free transfer from Valencia after giving nine years of service to Los Che and, as fate transpired, got the winner against his old team in October. Parejo is capable of chipping in with at least half a dozen and is 11/2 to get on the scoresheet anytime.

There is great competition for places in the front three with Gerard Moreno, Samuel Chukwueze, Paco Alcácer, Takefusa Kubo and Carlos Bacca in contention.
Alcácer will definitely start after contributing nine goals and two assists from 11 appearances. The one-time Barcelona attacker is 13/2 to break the deadlock and it is only a matter of time before he links up with team-mate Moreno at international level.
The Villarreal number 7 is 8/5 to register anytime and Chukwueze can be found at 11/4. The Nigerian winger is reportedly being tracked by Manchester United, Chelsea, Leicester and Everton and will only get better. The Yellow Submarine are 11/5 to clinch victory number six and a tie is 14/5.
In the opposing camp, Zidane will be expecting an immediate reaction from his crisis hit squad. Los Blancos are in dire need of freshening up, but funds have been set aside for Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. As a result, key areas have not been strengthened and Madrid are in danger of falling away in the league and on the continent.
In his defence, the French tactician has not been helped by Eden Hazard’s poor form and inability to stay fit. The wideman arrived for a fee in excess of £100m and will again be missing for the weekend showdown.
One to watch for Villarreal: Bacca has over 250 career strikes to his name and is a fine option to have in reserve. The well-travelled Colombian is 13/2 to hit the final effort.
One to watch for Real Madrid: Sergio Ramos is so important for Los Blancos at both ends of the pitch and is 11/5 to bag anytime. The veteran defender recently brought up a ton of goals for the club.
Long shot: A trip to Castellón to face a side full of confidence will not be high on Zidane’s agenda. The Yellow Submarine have taken 13 points from a possible 15 on home soil and could even go top this weekend. A 3-0 victory, piling the pressure on the World Cup winner in the process, is 21/1.
