As Barcelona continue their march towards the La Liga title, you’re not going to get very good odds on the Catalans retaining their crown this season. Instead, we’re taking a look at the best anytime scorer bets this week, and try to figure out who’s looking good for your money.

We may as well get the man who’s almost always good for your cash out of the way. La Liga top scorer Lionel Messi has seen the net bulge 29 times already this season, averaging a goal every 74 minutes. That’s an astonishing ratio, and Messi is 4/11 to continue his scoring run as Barcelona host Espanyol at the Nou Camp on Saturday afternoon.

Girona’s Cristhian Stuani hasn’t been doing too badly either this term. Only two players have scored more times than the former Middlesbrough man in the Spanish top flight – Messi and Luis Suarez. That’s some company Stuani is keeping, who’s tied on 16 goals with Sevilla forward Wissam Ben Yedder. Girona are at home to Athletic Bilbao, with Stuani at 7/4 to score. Ben Yedder meanwhile is 5/4 as Sevilla host Valencia on Sunday afternoon.

Later on Sunday, Zinedine Zidane takes charge of his second game back in the dugout at Real Madrid. Los Blancos are at home to bottom club Huesca, and the Bernabeu crowd will expect their team to win the game comprehensively. Gareth Bale scored just his eighth goal of the season in Zidane’s first match back in charge, and an injury to teen sensation Vinicius Junior means the Welshman has a better chance of retaining his place.

The rumours are swirling about Bale’s future, and there seems to be an orchestrated campaign from one particular Madrid-based newspaper to get him out of the club. Whether that’s being conducted by that powers-that-be at Real can’t be known, but Bales needs to go on a scoring run to salvage his future. He is 4/5 to hit the back of the net this weekend.

There’s a huge game at the foot of the La Liga table on Saturday evening, as Celta Vigo welcome Villarreal to Balaidos. With 10 games remaining, the visitors are one place and four points above their hosts, who currently occupy the final relegation place. Defeat for Vigo would leave them with a mountain to climb, so the likes of 22-year-old Maxi Gomez need to step up.

The Uruguayan scored his first senior international goal on Monday, and he’s 23/10 to follow that up with a goal at the weekend. After an accumulator bet this weekend? Why not add our five anytime goalscorer picks together for a tasty price of 50/1.
