What are the best anytime scorer bets in this week’s Copa America fixtures?

The opening round of Copa America fixtures has brought plenty of drama, action and upsets. Some of the star names we were expecting to turn up have already announced themselves on the scene, while others are still looking to make their mark. As we head into the second round of matches, we’re taking a look at the best anytime scorer bets in the Copa America this week.

After Neymar was ruled out on the eve of the tournament, even more focus was shifted onto the shoulders of Lionel Messi. One of the greatest players – if not the greatest – of all time needs an international trophy to cement his legacy, but things didn’t start to plan at all as Argentina lost 2-0 to Colombia in their opener.

Paraguay are up next for La Albiceleste, who need a win in the early hours of Thursday morning to spark their campaign into life. With two third-placed teams going through to the knockout stages, it’s not necessarily a must-win match just yet, but Argentina will be looking for a good win to start building some all-important momentum. All eyes will be on Messi once more, and the Barcelona forward is 4/5 to score anytime. His strike partner Sergio Aguero is available at 13/10.

Messi’s Nou Camp team mate Philippe Coutinho stepped up for hosts Brazil in the tournament’s curtain raiser, scoring twice in the space of three second-half minutes to stamp his authority all over the Selecao attack. He needed that after failing to live up to expectations so far at Barcelona, and the former Liverpool man will be full of confidence ahead of Brazil’s game against Venezuela. Coutinho is 13/10 in the anytime scorer odds for Wednesday’s game.

Bolivia take on Peru a few hours before that match, with both teams failing to find the back of the net in their opener. Bolivia were on the receiving end of Brazil’s 3-0 triumph, while Peru shared a goalless draw with Venezuela. Peru’s controversial record goalscorer, Paolo Guerrero, captains his country and leads the line. He’s 5/4 to score this week.

Moving on to Group C, which was a veritable goal fest in the opening round of matches. Both fixtures saw four goals, with Uruguay and Chile running out 4-0 winners against Ecuador and Japan respectively. Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez were both on target for Uruguay, and the formidable duo are both priced at 8/13 to to strike against Japan in the early hours of Friday.

Over in the Chile game, Alexis Sanchez put his miserable form for Manchester United behind him to score his country’s third against Japan. Sanchez holds the record for most caps for Chile with 125 international appearances to his name, while his 42 goals for La Roja are also a national record. He is 6/5 to follow up his first goal in 144 days with another one in quick succession.

If you’re looking for a big odds accumulator bet to get on this week, why not throw all of our goalscorer tips into a seven-fold acca? You can get 90/1 on Messi, Aguero, Coutinho, Guerrero, Cavani, Suarez and Sanchez all hitting the back of the net this week.
