What are the best Inter vs. Juventus bets this weekend?

The scudetto may be nicely wrapped up and looking forward to another year of sitting on show in the bosom of the Old Lady’s trophy cabinet, but there’s still a lot at stake as Serie A champions Juventus head to the San Siro to play Inter Milan on Saturday. There’s also plenty of cash at stake too, which is why we’re taking a look at the best Inter vs. Juventus bets this weekend.

The home team perhaps have more riding on the game, with their place in the top four and the top table of next season’s Champions League on the line. The Nerazzurri have a five-point cushion to Atalanta in fifth, but they have a home game against a struggling Udinese side this weekend. Lose this and it’s likely there’ll only be two points between the sides, with Atalanta boasting a better goal difference.

With Roma only another point back and just four games left after the weekend, this is a huge game for Luciano Spalletti’s side. It also has a lot of significance for Juventus, as a defeat will mean they can’t reach the magical 100-point mark this season. They need another 13 points from their five remaining fixtures, so a draw would still see them able to reach that target.

With no more Champions League or Coppa Italia to occupy their minds, bringing up the century is pretty much all the Bianconeri have left to play for. Max Allegri will want his team to finish on a high, while Cristiano Ronaldo also has his eye on finishing as Serie A’s top scorer. The Portuguese is three behind current top scorer Fabio Quagliarella, and looking to close that gap.

Juventus have only lost twice in the league all season, to Inter’s eight defeats. The Old Lady have won 10 more of their 33 Serie A fixtures than their hosts on Saturday evening, and have an excellent record against the San Siro outfit. Juve have only lost one of the last 11 Serie A meetings between the sides, winning six. That includes each of the last two and three of the last four.

Allegri’s side were 3-2 winners at the San Siro last season, and we could be in for another action-packed encounter this weekend. Inter will throw everything at this game with their Champions League ambitions at stake, while Juve will do the same to protect their challenge for the century. With that in mind, an over 3.5 goals bet is 16/5 for this game, while over 4.5 goals like last season is 8/1.

Juventus to win and both teams to score is 11/2, while the Old Lady are actually the underdogs in the outright market. You won’t often get a better price than 85/40 on Juve in the outright market in Serie A, so that looks like a bet worth snapping up. Ronaldo is 15/4 to open the scoring, while those odds are 105/1 if you combine that with a 3-2 away win.
