Just when you think the title race is done and dusted, Juventus go and concede a 93rd-minute equaliser to throw away a two-goal lead at home to Parma. That probably put pay to a fair few Serie A accumulator bets last weekend, but matchday 23 gives you another opportunity to line your betting wallet.
This week, we’re here to help. Unbeaten Juve are usually a safe bet, winning 19 of their 22 fixtures so far. They’re off to 11th-placed Sassuolo on Sunday, who they’ve beaten six times in a row. That run includes a massive 7-0 victory over the Neroverdi last season, and the Old Lady are 11/20 to get straight back to winning ways this weekend.
Before that, there’s a Thursday night game between Lazio and Empoli. The Roman club are one of three clubs locked on 35 points, just one behind fourth-placed Milan. Empoli meanwhile are just one point above the relegation zone, and have lost their last four games against Lazio. The Biancocelesti have won their last three at home to the Azzurri without conceding, and they’re 7/20 to win on Thursday.
On to Friday night, and top four-chasing Roma are away at bottom club Chievo. Eusebio Di Francesco’s side are unbeaten in their last 11 games against the Verona outfit, winning seven of those. They’re 13/20 to improve that record even further this week.
Our three picks so far have all been for the odds-on favourites, bringing our accumulator bet to 2.5/1. We’re after some longer odds to enhance our price, so we’re turning our attention to Fiorentina versus Napoli.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are the favourites for the win, but the Gli Azzurri haven’t tasted victory at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on their last three visits. They lost 3-0 in Florence last season, and drew the two seasons before. No team has drawn more times than Fiorentina this season, and we fancy them to share the spoils for the 11th time this season. That’s priced at 27/10 in the betting.
Straight away our acca’s up to 12/1, but we’re looking for another odds-against pick to bump up the price. To that end, we’re picking a draw between Bologna and Genoa in Sunday’s early kick-off. Things have been pretty even between the teams in recent seasons, with Genoa recording a narrow 1-0 victory at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris back in September.
Bologna are a point from safety and desperate to avoid defeat, but Genoa have beaten relegation rivals Empoli and drawn with Sassuolo in their last two games. A draw on Sunday is 11/5, and sees our five-fold jump to 40/1. If you fancy pushing your acca to a sixth pick, add Milan to beat struggling Cagliari at home. That’s 42/100, and brings your acca to a cool 57/1.
