Unlike that lot over in La Liga and the Bundesliga, Serie A doesn’t shut the curtains and ignore us all while feasting on mince pies and Christmas cake. Ho oh no, Italy’s top flight serves up a festive treat on Boxing Day with a full programme of fixtures, and it’s the same story on December 29 too. So, what are the best Serie A bets over Christmas?
Serie A Predictions and Preview
Before all that, we’ve got a full schedule on Saturday, with all 20 teams in action. One of the day’s highlights sees AC Milan welcome Fiorentina to the San Siro, with the Rossoneri looking to regain lost ground on the top three. Gennaro Gattuso’s side are 5/4 to get the three points, which looks like a tempting way to more than double your money.
Local rivals Inter are five points clear of the Rossoneri in third, and they face a trip to bottom club Chievo this weekend. The odds of 2/5 aren’t exactly setting the world on fire, but that’s a very decent price all things considered. Plus, we’ve also got a plan.
Juventus at home rarely give strong odds, but Roma are the visitors to the Allianz Stadium as Saturday saves the best for last in the late kick-off. You can get 2/5 on the Old Lady, again nothing to write home about, but there’s not usually much point in backing Juve in the outright market on home soil.
We told you we had a plan, and here it is. Fourfold accumulators are often risky business, but Napoli are at home to 15th-placed SPAL this weekend, and they simply have to win to keep the pressure on Juve at the top of the Serie A table. Throw in Carlo Ancelotti’s side for a win at 1/5 and your acca is up to 4.29/1, and that’s a pretty good price for four solid bets.
On to Boxing Day, and Fiorentina against Parma. There’s only a single point separating the sides at the moment, and this promises to be a tight game. With that in mind, the draw at 3/1 could be great value. Juve travel to sixth-placed Atalanta, who might need a Christmas miracle in spite of their decent start to the season. At 5/6, the Bianconeri look a steal.
The game of the day surely has to be Inter vs. Napoli. The away team are six points clear of Luciano Spalletti’s side, but the Nerazzurri will enjoy home advantage. Both meetings between the teams last season finished goalless, and this one promises to be equally tight, with the draw a tempter at 23/10.
Long shot: We said that fourfold accas are risky, so what does that make a sevenfold? A long shot, that’s what. You’ll get over 120/1 when you back all of the bets we’ve recommended here. A winner there could turn your Christmas into a very merry one indeed.
